Who is the BellaNoire Woman

How do we encapsulate all that is The BellaNoire Woman? The incomparable Black woman? There is SO MUCH to capture—from the African soil to Latin America, accomplishments by Black women span across the globe. However, reality check…many of the successes by Black women have gone unrecognized or uncredited. 

As Black women who are met with challenges born out of a world that constantly fails to recognize our worth, we have endured much but still rise above it all. We persist in a world that often fails to see our worth.  We thrive despite the inequities and injustices we face—the constant misogyny, hate, caricaturized sexuality, stereotypes, and doubts of our abilities to accomplish excellence.  We travail against the odds and boldly pursue our ambitions, leaving an unforgettable mark no matter where we are.

The BellaNoire Woman is hard to fit into any mold.  But don’t be fooled or bamboozled! Black women are remarkable…we always strive to be our best, standing proud on the shoulders of those that have come before, and fully embracing our African ancestry, while forging ahead to leave a legacy for those that will come after us.  God created the stars in the galaxy, uniquely and vast. God did the same for Black women and that’s the gospel truth! We aren’t a monolithic group. We are diverse and rich, encompassing so many cultures and personal experiences.

In all, it is important to understand that The BellaNoire Woman comprises many facets of Black womanhood. She represents that which makes the Black woman magical yet real, humble yet proud, passionate, brilliant, fearless, ambitious, beautiful, soulful, wise, and overall deserving of all adoration.  Whether she is a homemaker juggling motherhood, an entrepreneur building her brand, a student expanding her knowledge, an artist lending her creative skills, or advocate for her community—she epitomizes what is The BellaNoire Woman.
